Escuela Mill Creek is an International Spanish Academy. 50% of instruction is in Spanish and 50% in English. Core subjects such as Math, Spanish, P.E, and Health are instructed in Spanish, and Social, Science, and English Language Arts are instructed in English. We understand the importance of learning a second language in the development of the students' intelligence and ability to learn and think. We also know that when the students leave our school at the end of grade 6 they are very capable of conversing in Spanish.
We accept students in Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 2 and exceptions for grade 3. If they speak Spanish or are coming from a Spanish Bilingual school we will enroll them.
We will be accepting registrations On February 1st, 2018. Please register early as numbers are limited.
Your child needs to turn 5 by March 1st, 2019 to be able to be registered in Kindergarten for the 2018-19 school year.

Ahead of the Curve:
Students at Escuela MillCreek have a special opportunity to not only take Spanish but become immersed in its cultures as well. Its prominence in the Americas as well as in Europe makes Spanish one of the most common languages, with 405 million speakers, second only to Mandarin. Research has shown that learning a second language improves decision-making skills, increases brain power, improves travel experiences and improves employability.
We are currently accepting registrations for the 2014-2015 school year and encourage you to contact us at 780-433-5746 or come by the school anytime.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all of our students, parents and community members to Escuela Mill Creek. At Escuela Mill Creek School we pride ourselves in the relationships built among students, staff members, parents and community members. Our mission is to create a learning environment which is safe and caring, to encourage every child to achieve and be the best they can be, as well as to prepare our students with the character and skills they need to be contributing and happy citizens in the future. At Escuela Mill Creek we believe that learning the Spanish language and culture, students will deepen their knowledge and appreciation for Spanish-speaking countries and their cultures. We also believe that this program will contribute to the future success of our students in an increasingly globalized community. At our school, we do not want the students to “take Spanish” we want them to LEARN Spanish and this can only be accomplished through hard work and excellent teachers and staff.
Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions or concerns as we have an open door policy here at Escuela Mill Creek. My goal is to support the students and staff to ensure that i have created the environment for life-long learning. It is my hope that when our students leave our school that they have the skills to be successful in whatever they choose to do.

We are getting a new school!
A new school for our site was approved by the former provincial government and we just received word that we can move forward with the next steps of detailed design and planning, which lays the groundwork for construction. When construction will start isn’t certain yet. And it is too early to determine where the new school will be located on the site.
I can tell you the new school will accommodate 350 students, with two classes per grade from Kindergarten to Grade Six.
Because this news is so new, we don’t have a lot of other details to share at this point, but I will regularly update our school community when there is new progress to report.
The first step will be to hire an architect in order to start the design process sometime in the fall.
I thought this was great news to share just as summer is about to start. If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
